Hustontown

By Kate
Berkstresser

Hope everyone had a nice Easter Sunday celebration and really took time to realize we worship a risen Savior who makes all things possible or do we really take it for granted.

Visitors in the Kate Berkstresser home this past week were Andrea Berkstresser, Brooke and Danny Sheeder and daughter Emma Grace of McConnellsburg and Harvey and Pat Berkstresser.

A nice crowd attended sunrise services at Fairview United Methodist Church and attended a nice breakfast by the church folks following services. Also a nice attendance Sunday morning at Knobsville United Methodist Church. Glad to see David Hykes doing well after surgery.

Hustontown Fire Co. will sponsor an auction Saturday, April 6, at 2 p.m. Frozen foods, dry goods, snacks and miscellaneous items will be offered for sale. Mike Sullivan will be the vendor. Come out and enjoy the afternoon and support the fire company that is always there to support us in time of need.

A nice place to go on Saturday evening is Sam’s Auction in Breezewood along Route 30. There are always lots of items for sale.

Remember Election Day is coming up next month. If you are not registered to vote, plan to do so then you will be eligible to do your duty and vote.

Kate Berkstresser was Sunday evening dinner guests with Herbie and Tammy Berkstresser and son Aaron.

Happy birthday to Donald Berkstresser April 4 and Jackie Berkstresser April 10 and also Sally Mumma has a special day on April 10.

Glad to hear Mike Helman is doing well after having surgery. We hope he continues to a complete recovery.

Congratulations to Fred and Martha Thomas of Boiling Springs on their 50th anniversary. Fred was originally from McConnellsburg.

Household Hint: Soften paint brush. To soften hardened paint on a brush, soak it in hot vinegar. Follow up by working it with warm soapy water.
