Olivia Mills Sings National Anthem At Hershey Center
Olivia Mills, a senior at Forbes Road High School, had the privilege of singing the national anthem on Saturday, March 23, at the PIAA State Basketball Championships. This was her second year to be invited as a soloist for the event. She was accompanied by her parents, Michael Lupey and Joyce Mills-Lupey, and sang after the colors were presented by Marian Center HS Jr. ROTC. She received a certificate of appreciation, a program mention and a PIAA championship T-shirt for her participation.
Olivia is a member of National Honor Society, FCCLA, Drama Club and plays the flute in the band and is the band’s drum major. She played for the Forbes Road varsity field hockey team and is a sprinter and long-jump athlete for the combined Forbes Road and McConnellsburg track team. She attends Knobsville United Methodist Church, where she frequently sings for Sunday services as well as community based special events. She just completed her role as Dorothy in the Forbes Road production of “The Wizard of Oz.” Olivia will be attending Seton Hill University in Greensburg, Pa., as a musical theatre major.
Audrey Hall and Brown “Tink” Cutchall once again orchestrated this exciting opportunity for one of our local students.
