Burnt Cabins Man Jailed For Rape
A Burnt Cabins man remains in the Franklin County Jail this week after being arrested on 1,260 criminal allegations related to the ongoing rape and sexual assault of a girl.
Fifty-year-old Warren David Kerlin III of 24941 Tannery Road was arraigned Friday, March 22, before Magisterial District Judge Devin Horne on 100 counts of rape, 160 counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, 300 counts of aggravated indecent assault, 50 counts of sexual assault and 600 counts of indecent assault. Bail in the case has been set at $500,000.
Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Joseph Horton became aware of the accusations against Kerlin when he spoke to the victim, who alleged she had been sexually abused by Kerlin since September 21, 2010. The final incident reportedly occurred on February 13, 2013.
The girl presented state police investigators with an audio recording of sexual activity that included the voice of Kerlin. The recording was made using the victim’s Ipod.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, Kerlin had intercourse with the girl more than 50 times on an average of once weekly or every other week.
On the day of her interview with state police on March 22, the girl accused Kerlin of grabbing her inappropriately and smacking her on the rear.
A preliminary hearing in the case has tentatively been set for April 1 in Fulton County Central Court.
