The Southern Fulton Lady Indians inched up another step on the ladder Saturday.
Playing against the Lourdes Regional Red Raiders during the quarterfinal match of PIAA Class A playoffs, the Indians squad came together in every aspect of the game whether it was shooting, free throws or rebounding. The result was a decisive 47-29 win and advancement to the semifinal round.
Ashley Roman led the Indians’ offense at East Pennsboro High School, netting 17 points and blocking one shot. Teammate Kayla Chilcote shot five-for-eight and finished out the match with 11 points. Macey Hollenshead added nine points, seven rebounds and five steals, while Kayla Wertz chimed in with eight points, primarily making her shots from the three-point zone.
The Lady Indians were next scheduled to appear in the semifinal round against Tri-Valley on Tuesday, March 19.

Southern Fulton Lady Indians celebrated another victory last Wednesday night after easily crushing Halifax to advance to the quarterfinal round of the PIAA Class A tournament.
During the match held inside the Dome at Cumberland Valley High School, four members of the Lady Indians starting squad reached double figures against the Wildcats. Topping the scoring effort was Ashley Roman, who also dominated the defense, with 24 points, seven rebounds and two blocked shots. Teammate Kayla Chilcote added 13 points and made five steals.
Macey Hollenshead was just shy of reaching yet another double-double with 12 points and nine assists, while Taelor Morton also netted 12 points.
Southern Fulton closed out the game shooting 50.8 percent or 30 of 59 from the floor. on the Quilt” by Stephanie Grace Whitson, and “The Chance” by Karen Kingsbury.
