Man Killed By Train At Central Pa. Crossing
RICHLAND, Pa. (AP) – Authorities in central Pennsylvania say a man was struck and killed after he tried to get across the tracks ahead of an approaching train.
State police said 23-yearold Brett Potteiger of Richland was walking on a street in the Lebanon County borough as the westbound Norfolk Southern train was approaching.
Police said he “ran and attempted to beat the train across the crossing” and was struck and killed just after 12:30 a.m. Saturday.
Police have ruled the death accidental but said the investigation remains open.
