SF To Present Talent Night Concert
Southern Fulton High School will present a talent night concert Saturday, March 16, at 7:30 p.m., in the high school auditorium. The concert celebrates Music in Our Schools Month as designated by the National Association for Music Education. Vocal solos will be performed by members of senior high chorus. Members of the high school guitar class will also perform.
The evening will begin with the presentation of vocal solos. Following the solos, there will be a brief intermission during which audience members will be asked to vote for their favorite singer. Each vote is a minimum of $1 and will be deposited in the box of a singer. Audience members are encouraged to stuff the ballot box with as many votes as they wish. Votes are accepted in any denomination of currency: ones, fives, tens or higher. Rather than a serious vocal competition, the voting is meant to be a fun way to raise money for a worthy cause. As decided by the members of senior high chorus, all of the money raised in voting will go to the family of SF student Tristan Douglas to help offset the expenses of cancer treatment.
Following the intermission, the guitar class will perform several selections while the votes are tallied. The evening will conclude with the winner and runner up being named. While there will be prizes for the top two singers, the prizes will be funded by the choral activity fund. All money raised from voting will go to the Douglas family.
Vocalists performing for the evening are Victoria Tyler, Noah Smartt, Schadoh Dase, Leangel Barnhart, Cameron Crouse, Christina Koontz, Michaela Harrison, Shad Gordon, Isaac Hartman, Sean Bright and Harley Mellott. Members of the guitar class include Phillip Mason, MiKayla O’Neal, Austin Smith, Dakota Wagonbrenner, Jonah Golden and Logan Faith.
Admission to the concert is free. Audience members are asked to come prepared to vote for their favorite singer and support a very worthwhile cause. For more information, contact vocal music director Dan Meredith at 717-294-3251, Ext. 221, or email@example.com.
