DAR Award Winners Named
Mikell McGee was the winner of the American History Essay contest. Mikell is a student in the Fannett-Metal School District.
Good Citizen awards were presented to seniors from five area high schools in Franklin and Fulton counties. The program is open to all public and private schools that are in good standing with the state Board of Education. The faculty of each school nominates a student who exemplifies the qualities of good citizenship. Each student writes a personal profile of their interests, activities in school, in the community, and volunteer activities. They also write an essay on a preselected topic.
Winners were presented with a certificate, a pin and a monetary gift from the DAR.

Her essay and profile will be forwarded to the PA state Good Citizen contest, and if she wins at the state level, her profile will be forwarded on to the DAR national contest.
