Frederick Force 70

Skyler DeShong led the Fulton County Community Christian School with 38 points during a 70-50 loss to Frederick Force. DeShong also had three steals, while teammate Caleb Gingerich added 10 points, 10 rebounds and six steals. Austin Mellott finished out the day with six rebounds.

Frederick Warriors 60

FCCCS 50

Two turnovers in the final minutes led to five points for the Frederick Warriors, who finished out a recent match against Fulton County Community Christian School in a 60-50 win. Skyler Gordon rallied for 30 points as well as six rebounds and five assists for the Chargers. Caleb Gingerich added 20 points, 11 rebounds and six steals.

Shanksville 47

Forbes Road 24

Forbes Road three-point lead in the first quarter dwindled away with Shanksville prevailing for the 47-24 win in the opening round of District 5-A playoffs. Tristan Gelvin was the team’s lead scorer with seven points, and Macklin Hawkins added six points and eight rebounds. Chase Shaw, who was unable to complete the game due to a hand injury, finished with five points and three steals.

Shade 78

McConnellsburg 49

Shade broke wide open last Thursday, in an evenly played game in the first period, winning the opening round of District 5-A playoffs against McConnellsburg by the final score of 78-49. Tyler Green was the Spartans’ high scorer with 24 points, eight rebounds and two steals. Jesse Swope also reached double digits with 10 points.

Tussey Mountain 58

Southern Fulton 51

Southern Fulton and Tussey Mountain battled it out Saturday in the firstround of District 5-A playoffs, with the Titans prevailing 58-51. Nick Smartt led the Indians during the loss, which broke the team’s five game winning streak. Smartt tallied 22 points and four steals, while teammate Brady Golden also reached double figures with 12 points. Jacob Ashkettle rounded out the playoff game with three assists and 10 rebounds.

Hancock 56

FCCCS 34

Hancock, Md., prevailed over Fulton County Community Christian School to win the non-league match by the score of 56-34. Jenae Gordon netted 21 points and also pulled down seven rebounds, grabbed four steals and dished out three assists. Morgan Daniels was the next highest scorer with eight points.

Frederick Force 47

FCCCS 36

Frederick Force wore down the Fulton County Community Christian School recently winning over the Chargers 47-36. Jenae Gordon was again the high scorer for the Chargers with 17 points, seven rebounds, three steals and three assists. Rebecca Truax tallied eight points, four rebounds and four assists, and Hannah Beddow added eight points and seven rebounds.

Lighthouse Christian 12

With an 18-point lead going into the halftime break, Fulton County Community Christian School pulled away for a 48-12 win over Lighthouse Christian 48-12. Morgan Daniels sunk 24 points, which included four threepoint shots, to lead the Chargers, who also received nine points, 11 rebounds and six steals from Jenae Gordon. Rebecca Truax netted seven points and pulled down nine rebounds, and Sarah Gingerich finished with 10 rebounds.

Berlin 62

McConnellsburg 36

McConnellsburg was unable to advance in the playoff rankings Saturday, losing to Berlin by the score of 62- 36 in the first-round of District 5-A playoffs. Jessi Keefer paced the Lady Spartans’ scoring effort with 15 points. Nikki Fleming added nine points during the playoff game.

Southern Fulton 68

Fannett-Metal 57

Fannett-Metal’s season came to a close Saturday when Southern Fulton posted a big 68-57 victory during the opening round of District 5-A playoffs. Lady Indian Taelor Morton had a gamehigh 21 points, while Macey Hollenshead rallied for 19 points, seven rebounds and nine assists. Kayla Chilcote added 12 points.

District BB Finals Set

District5Aboysbasketball finals will be held March 1 at Pitt-Johnstown at 8 p.m.

District 5 AA boys semifinals will be held February 27 with Conemaugh Township playing Tussy Mountain at Conemaugh at 7:30 p.m.

Northern Bedford will play Chestnut Ridge at Northern Bedford at 7:30 p.m.

District5Agirlssemifinals will be held February 27 with Southern Fulton playing Fannett-Metal at Everett at 5:30 p.m.

Berlin will play Conemaugh Township at North Star at 5:30 p.m.

Finals will be played March 2 at Pitt Johnstown at 6 p.m.

District AA girls finals will be held March 1 at Pitt-Johnstown at 6 p.m. with Everett playing Tussey Mountain. straight nights at Volusis Speedway Park, where Scott Bloomquist, Billy Moyer and defending series champ Darrell Lanigan were feature winners.

Bloomquist won Thursday night over Rick Eckert, Shane Clanton, Eric Wells and Josh Richards, while Moyer’s Friday night win came over Eckert, Lanigan, Dennis Erb Jr. and Clanton.

Lanigan ended the weekend with a Saturday night win over Richards, Tim Mc- Creadie, Clanton and Tim Fuller. Richards won the overall WinterNationals point title and is the current series point leader.

The Hagerstown Speedway Race-A-Rama car show takes place at the Valley Mall from March 4-9 and the mall will be filled with cars that will compete at the track this season. Hagerstown’s first event of the year will be Sunday, March 17, with the rescheduled Brawl in the Fall rained out last year.
