PA Man Shot By Police Died Of One Shot
YORK, Pa. (AP) – Authorities in central Pennsylvania say an elderly man shot and killed by police after firing at officers was shot once and died of a gunshot wound to the head.
The York Dispatch says the York County coroner’s office on Friday ruled the death of 72-year-old Clifton Thomson a homicide. The district attorney’s office will now decide whether the shooting was justified.
State police earlier said officers fired several times after Thomson advanced on them Thursday morning at his Conewago Township home and would not comply with an order to put down his .30 caliber rifle.
