Drug Awareness Contest Held

Chambersburg Elks Lodge 600 held its annual, local drug-awareness contest. All third, fourth and fifth graders drew a poster, while the sixth graders wrote an essay. The theme this year was “I Choose To Be Drug Free.” The winners were:

Third grade: first - Bree Morningstar and second - Tonique Pung.

Fourth grade: first - Morgan Buterbaugh; second - Kylie Brown; third - Rain Gelvin. Fifth grade: first - Paige Swope; second - Destiny Hall; third - Jensen Boehme. Sixth grade: first - Rebecca Wenschhof; second - Kady Shafer; third - Zoe Hann. First-place winners received a $25 Walmart gift card and their poster was sent to compete in the south central competition.

Second-place students received a $15 Walmart gift card, while the thirdplace students received a $10 Walmart card. Every student who competed received a certificate.
