High Honors Awarded To Warfordsburg FFA Members
On January 7, 2013, Warfordsburg FFA traveled to the 2013 Farm Show and the location of the FFA Mid-Winter Convention. Throughout the morning and early afternoon, students experienced the views, sounds, smells and tastes of the well-known Pennsylvania Farm Show.
The exceptional potato donuts and fried mozzarella cubes were something to experience, but nothing compared to the incredible honors to follow during the Mid-Winter Convention. Starting at 2 p.m., more than 5,000 FFA members and guests came together in the large arena to hear from a number of guest speakers, and honor nearly 300 students with their first FFA jackets and another nearly 300 students with their Keystone Degrees, the greatest degree awarded to an FFA member through the state.
Warfordsburg FFA members Michael Fogal and Justin Fogal both received their Keystones after four years of hard work and dedication to both the chapter and their SAE projects. Michael Fogal, a 2012 graduate, is currently working for Fogal Excavating as well as Younker’s Butcher Shop. Michael plans on continuing to work in the family business and increasing his knowledge of the excavating business. Justin Fogal is currently a senior at Southern Fulton High School. After graduation, Justin plans on joining his brother and father in their family excavating business in the hopes of increasing the size and scope of the business.
