Susan R. Hoover Saxton, 51

Susan R. Hoover, 51, Saxton, died Sunday, February 17, 2013, at home surrounded by family.

She was born on September 30, 1961, in Huntingdon, Pa., a daughter of the late George W. and Jacqueline A. (Sherlock) Watson. On November 18, 1978, in Saxton by the Rev. Daniel Brumbaugh, she married Douglas W. Hoover Sr.

Along with her husband, she is survived by the following children: Apryle, married to Shannon Price, Saxton, Pa.; Sherri, married to Clair “George” McMullen, Orbisonia; Doug Hoover Jr., married to Jennifer, Martinsburg, Pa.; Matthew Hoover, married to Nikki, Rockhill Furnace, Pa.; 11 grandchildren: Dylan, Kylee, Damian, Kameron and Adrianne Price, George, Nevin and Caleb McMullen, Bailey and Layla Hoover and Zaiden Hoover; siblings: Bonnie Watson, Saxton; Robin, married to Dennis Chadwick, Broad Top, Pa.; George Watson and companion Jennifer O’Hara, Ebensburg, Pa.; and Lori Steward, Broad Top, Pa.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Karen Ann Watson

She attended Raven Run Church of the Brethren, where she enjoyed helping with Bible school.

She was a graduate of Tussey Mountain High School Class of 1979.

She was formerly employed at Cove Shoe, Martinsburg, and for the past nine years was working as a machine assembler at JLG Industries.

She previously served as secretary of the Saxton Volunteer Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary and was a 4-H group leader. She and her husband enjoyed camping, farming together and showing dairy cattle at the local county fairs.

Her grandchildren were her #1 priority; she always had time to take care of them.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at noon at Raven Run Church of the Brethren. Rev. Dan Hammel officiated. Burial was at St. Luke’s Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mrs. Hoover to Raven Run Church of the Brethren or to the American Cancer Society.
