Lavern Brown Chambersburg, 86

Lavern Brown, 86, a resident of ManorCare Health Services, Chambersburg, Pa., and formerly of Hustontown, died at 4:05 p.m., Tuesday, February 5, 2013, at Manor- Care.

Born April 19, 1926, at Hustontown, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Luella (Hoffman) Ste-vens. She was married to Robert A. Brown on June 18, 1945. He preceded in death on August 17, 2008.

She is survived by a daughter, Lou Ann Eyler, and husband John, and grandchildren Amanda Vanaman and husband Mike and Scott Eyler and great-grandchildren: Taylor, Morgan, Casie, and Lincoln Vanaman, all of Fayetteville; a special niece and nephew, Valerie Harring, Carlisle, and Bryan Brown, McConnellsburg; a brother, John Stevens, Fayetteville; and a sister, Althea Brown, Orbisonia.

Two sisters, Evelyn Quinn and Martha Stevens, and a brother, Nathan Stevens, are deceased.

She enjoyed the simple things of life and was always content with the Lord’s blessings. She liked working in her garden and sharing her homegrown vegetables, being a homemaker and caring for newborn animals on the farm. She also had a special love for children and going to Clear Ridge United Methodist Church.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 9, 2013, at M. R. Brown Funeral Home, Hustontown. Pastor Lawton Jacobs officiated. Interment was at Clear Ridge Cemetery, Hustontown.
