Intoxicated Woman To Be Charged In Shooting Hoax
VENETIA, Pa. (AP) – Police say an intoxicated woman will be charged with phoning in a hoax report of a shooting to 911 dispatchers that prompted police to surround a southwestern Pennsylvania home.
Peters Township police haven't identified the woman who allegedly called to report that someone had been shot and was bleeding inside the home about 2 p.m. Wednesday.
Police say the homeowner arrived to find police there, and told them he had a voicemail on his cellphone from the woman, who had warned him she planned to cause police an “inconvenience.”
Police have yet to publicly identify the woman. They say she was intoxicated when they found her on Wednesday and she'll be charged in the coming days.
Police did not immediately return a call Thursday from The Associated Press.
