Ray M. Fessler Waterfall, 85

Ray M. Fessler, 85, Waterfall, and formerly of Six Mile Run, died Thursday, January 24, 2013, at his home.

Born April 26, 1927, in Six Mile Run, he was a son of the late Edward and Amanda Viola (Black) Fessler. He was united in marriage to the former Bertha Ellen Resh August 6, 1948, in Defiance. His wife survives.

He is survived by his children: Alan Ray Fessler and his wife, Bonnie (Everetts), Stafford, Va.; Wayne C. Fessler and his wife, Sharon (Ross), Dudley; Carol A. Brown and her husband Larry, Robertsdale; and Edward J. Fessler and his wife, Lorrainia (Sitch), Waterfall; grandchildren: Amy Fessler, Shawn Brode, Amanda Chamberlain, Dayna Fessler, Nathan Fessler, Thad Fessler, Jamie Foor, Ryan Fessler and Kody Sitch; and great-grandchildren: Gage Fessler, Easton Chamberlain, Ashlynn Brode, Kayley Brode, Jamison Foor, Molly, Isabella, Lilly and Noah Fessler; three sisters: Cleoma Stoner, Todd, Pa.; Dorothy Flanders, Venice, Fla., and Fae Montreal and her husband, Gabe, Schellsburg; and a brother, Harry “Fuzz” Fessler, Dudley.

He was preceded in death by four siblings: Harriet Morningstar, Olive Stevens, Wilmer “Babe” Fessler and Carol Jean Fessler; four brothers-in-law: Charles Flanders, Ken Morningstar, Stanley Stevens and Wayne Stoner; and a sister-in-law, Nancy Fessler.

He was of the Protestant faith.

He was employed as a coal miner and worked in various mines during his lifetime.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, January 28, at Akers Funeral Chapel, Saxton. Rev. Dean Thomas officiated. Burial was in Duvall Cemetery, Six Mile Run.
