Mearl E. Rosenberry, 77, Maddensville, Pa., died Saturday, February 2, 2013, at Chambersburg Hospital.
He was born November 9, 1935, in Fort Littleton, Pa., the son of the late John and Edith (Ward) Rosenberry. He was married to Kay Anderson Rosenberry on June 29, 1959.
He served in the Army National Guard until his honorable discharge in 1963.
He was a sewing machine mechanic and employed by various clothing manufacturing companies in the area. He enjoyed spending his free time watching NASCAR and cheering on his favorite driver, Dale Earnhardt, with his dog Lucy.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Kay Rosenberry of Hustontown; one son, Rick (husband of Cathy) Rosenberry of McVeytown, Pa., and one daughter, Tonya (wife of Rick) Doyle of Burnt Cabins; seven grandchildren: Derick (husband of Heather) Doyle of Orbisonia; Levi Doyle of Burnt Cabins; and Andrew Hoffman of Blain; Lori Slaughter of Alexandria, Va.; Sherry (wife of Brian) Smith of McVeytown, Pa.; Chasity (wife of Ted) Boozel of Mill Creek, Pa., and Charisa Allen of Mount Union; 12 great-grandchildren: Dathyn Doyle, Zach and Zeth Slaughter, Brian and Abby Smith, Jake, Josh and Emily Boozel, Kohl Smith, Garrick, Garryn and Garrity Allen; four brothers: Doyle Rosenberry of Lakeland, Fla.; Marvin Rosenberry of Saxton; Sheldon Rosenberry of Ohio and Gerald Rosenberry of Shade Gap; and one sister, Darlene Helman of McConnellsburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents: John E. and Edith Rosenberry, and one sister, Grace Mihalick
A memorial service was held 1 p.m., Wednesday, February 6, 2013, at New Grenada Church of God in Hustontown.
