Hustontown

By Kate Berkstresser

The groundhog predicted an early spring, but it hasn’t arrived yet because as I write snow is falling this evening.

I am glad to be back home after spending a few days in the hospital last week.

Get well wishes to LaRue Shaw as she too was in the hospital.

June Bennett of Carlisle spent some time last week with her mother, Kate Berkstresser, after she came home from the hospital.

Hope Lester Newman is doing better as he wasn’t feeling so well last week.

Happy birthday to Bobby Bennett, February 1, and also to Belle Berkstresser, February 8, and Sara Kay Helman, February 11.

I wish to thank all who sent cards and for the phone calls, visits and food while I have been hospitalized and since I’m home. God bless you all.

Household Hint: Make your own prepared flour: 2 quarts sifted plain flour, 3 level tablespoons baking pow- der, 2 level teaspoons salt. Sift together three times. Recommended to use a good brand of flour.
