Earl V. Stains McConnellsburg, 92

Earl V. Stains, 92, a resident of the Fulton County Medical Center Extended Care Unit, McConnellsburg, and formerly of Harrisonville, died Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg.

He was born in Maddensville, Pa., October 15, 1920, the son of the late Harvey and Ruie ( Brown) Stains. He was the husband of Goldie C. (Wagner) Stains whom he married on November 27, 1948.

He attended Mt. Tabor Nazarene Church in Waterfall, and retired from the PA Turnpike Commission.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons: Terry V. (husband of Patricia) Stains of Orbisonia; Landis B. (husband of Virginia) Stains of Mercersburg; Kevin B. (husband of Diane) Stains of Somerset, Mass.; Keith B. (husband of Lenore) Stains of McConnellsburg; Kent B. (husband of Jill) Stains of Harrisonville; a sister, Verna Hoover of Chambersburg; 10 grandchildren; 15 greatgrandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by sisters Cleona Rohrer, Zelda Shaw, Myrtle Snyder, Violet Losh, Mildred Mellott and Alma Mellott; and brothers Howard, Carl and Clarence Stains.

Services will be held at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., McConnellsburg, at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 1t, 2013. Pastor Duane Williams will officiate. Interment will be at Mt. Tabor Nazerene Cemetery, Waterfall.

There will be visitation on Thursday, January 31, 2013, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., McConnellsburg. There will also be visitation one hour before the service on Friday at the funeral home. Military services will be conducted by the Fulton Honor Guard.
