Ex-officer Convicted In Central Pa. Bar Fight Case
ALTOONA, Pa. (AP) – A former central Pennsylvania police officer has been convicted of assaulting two men at a bar and then trying to cover-up the incident.
The Altoona Mirror reports jurors convicted ex-officer Duane Eichenlaub on Thursday of counts including aggravated assault and tampering with public records.
Authorities say Eichenlaub and another officer beat up a man who allegedly fondled a woman at an Altoona bar in May 2010. Another man who tried to intervene was also hurt.
The officers allegedly tried to get fellow police who responded to overlook the incident.
The second officer, Eric Kriner, previously pleaded guilty to assault and conspiracy.
