Hustontown

By Kate Berkstresser

As we started the week we were still having some winter weather that included icy roads.

A nice crowd attended the celebration for the Knobsville United Methodist Church on Sunday evening by having a covered dish meal, followed with a program by the Fairview and Knobsville churches.

We send speedy recover wishes to Lee Tice, who is having knee surgery. Also continued get well wishes to Dot Schaffer.

Happy birthday wishes to Ryan Berkstresser, January 27; Bobbie Bennett, February 1; and Herbert Berkstresser III on January 30.

Some of the area schools were closed Monday due to icy weather conditions.

If you are not registered to vote, you might want to consider doing so, then you will be ready for the spring primary.

Household Hint: When you chop onions, green peppers and celery make several cups more than you need. Freeze the vegetables in plastic bags for use in soups, sauces and casseroles. This saves time when needed.
