Ronald McDonald House And PFB’s Food Checkout Day
Sue Fleming and Donna Lynch are this year’s co-coordinators of the Ronald McDonald House food and household items collection January 21 through February 14. Sue will have the northern part of the county. She can be reached at 717- 987-3718. Donna will have the southern end of the county and can be reached t 717-294-3414. They will be assisted by Dorothy Mellott who will be doing the Mc- Connellsburg area, and she can be reached at 717-325- 0139.
The collection sites this year are Wilkins (Southern States) in Warfordsburg; Dott Village Store in Dott; Fulton County Christian School in Needmore; Mc- Connellsburg Motor and Implement in McConnellsburg; Thomas All Things Automotive in McConnellsburg; Park Service Center in Fort Littleton; Keller’s in Hustontown and Newman’s in Waterfall.
Items needed are in general: nothing perishable. Single serving items, i.e. cereal, chips, crackers, microwave soups and pasta, cookies, pudding and toaster pastries. On a larger scale: pasta meals, potatoes (scalloped and instant), tuna, ketchup, salad dressing, paper towels, dish-washing liquid, 13-gallon trash bags, paper plates, bowls and napkins.
Gift cards: Walmart, KMart, Giant, Applebee’s, Bob Evans, McDonald’s, Sheetz and Turkey Hill. And, of course, cash contributions are great too, in the form of a check made payable to The Ronald Mc- Donald House, Hershey, and given to anyone of the women listed above, or sent to the treasurer: Dee Dee Johnston, 800 Back Run Road, McConnellsburg, PA 17233.
Donation opportunities will be available immediately and conclude on February 13. Please help celebrate the blessings of bounty of our farms and the opportunity to help those whose lives are being impacted by some difficult circumstances.
