Charged With Odometer Tampering In Pa. Car Sales

PHILADELPHIA (AP) – Federal prosecutors say two suspects defrauded used car buyers by tampering with odometers and using Pennsylvania titles that reflected the false mileage totals.

The U.S. Justice Department on Friday announced the charges against 45-yearold

Kyle Novitsky and 52- year-old Judith Aloe, both residents of North Miami Beach, Fla.

A federal grand jury in Philadelphia says the two misrepresented mileage totals of about 250 vehicles they sold, including sales at the large Manheim

Auto Auction.

They're accused of making false odometer statements, securities fraud and conspiracy. They allegedly bought the vehicles from a national leasing company.

Prosecutors say the suspects are in custody after being arrested Thursday. Court records don't list defense lawyers.
