D.L. Martin Company Recognizes MacDowall

Martin Co.’s Employee of the Month Derrick MacDowall, left, is congratulated by his supervisor, Mike Wood. The D.L. Martin Co. has recognized Derrick MacDowall as Employee of the Month for December. MacDowall lives in Needmore and has been with the company for six months. He is a machine operator in the CNC Department. His supervisor, Mike Wood, is a production supervisor who has been with the D.L. Martin Co. for 18 years.

MacDowall is being recognized for a number of suggestions that eliminated unnecessary tool changes and reduced cycle time on various parts run on the Toyoda FV-45 and Haas VF-4 Vertical CNC Machining Centers. Changes were made to CNC programs that allow multiple parts to be run at one time using either a 3-vise fixture or a multi-part V-block.

Also recognized were Ray Baugher, Duane Brown, Paul Carmack Jr., Wayne Eisenhour, Ken Hege, Jack Huffman, Tashema Huffman, James McFadden and Jane Rusin for their suggestions implemented through the company’s Continual Improvement Program in the month of December.
