Harry P. Brown Robertsdale, 75
Harry Parker Brown, 75, Robertsdale, Pa., died Thurdsay, December 27, 2012, at Pinnacle Health in Harrisburg.
He was born in Wood on January 17, 1937, the youngest son of the late Emma Vesta (Winters) and Charles Brown.
He was united in marriage on August 14, 1955, to Wanda L. Watkins in Saltillo. She preceded him in death on September 6, 2008.
A daughter, Lori Ann, also preceded him in death on June 8, 2008, along with the following brothers: Ernest, Charles, Carl and Walter. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
He is survived by three daughters: Crystal, wife of Kevin Shafer, Needmore; Wanda Diane, wife of Ed Burrall, Hustontown; Kelli, wife of Dan Rea, with whom he resided; grandchildren: Kevin W. Shafer, Zachary and Samuel Sosak, and Bridget Mellott, and his great-grandchildren: Kaitlin Shafer, Jordon and Westin Mellott.
In his younger years, while employed at Fiberglass in Huntingdon, he served as Textile Workers Union of America local union president. He also managed the company softball team. He worked for D.W. Miller in Huntingdon and was last employed and retired from JLG Industries Inc., Mc- Connellsburg.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman for most of his life. He enjoyed mechanical work and worked on everything from lawnmowers to construction equipment. He enjoyed NASCAR and the Steelers. He loved sitting on his front porch reading the Bible. He enjoyed watching birds and other wildlife that visited the feeders. He was grateful for visits from family and friends. He loved telling stories form his life, that will be treasured forever.
He had attended New Grenada Church of God and belonged to the Waterfall Odd Fellows.
Funeral services were held Monday, December 31, at 11 a.m., at Curtis A. Heath Funeral Home Inc., Broad Top city. Burial was at Wells Valley Presbyterian Cemetery.
