Courthouse Pillar-Replacement Project Begins



R.A. Hill Inc. employees began erecting scaffolding last Thursday around the columns of the Fulton County Courthouse to be used as part of demolition and replacement work. On Monday, the company had taken down the western most column that will be replaced with a steel support post. According to reports, all six columns will be replaced with metal posts and eventually covered with a column constructed from glass fiber reinforced concrete. The project was budgeted by the current board of commissioners and will cost $78,000 as previously bid by R.A. Hill Inc. R.A.
