Woman Trying To Save Dog Rescued From Pa. Pond
READING, Pa. (AP) – Firefighters have rescued a woman who fell through the ice while trying to pull one of her dogs from a frozen pond in eastern Pennsylvania.
Officials say it happened at the Conrad Weiser Homestead in Heidelberg Township on Thursday morning. Police say the woman was trying to rescue one of her two border collies when she fell in.

Chief Michael R. Boyer says the woman had been walking the dogs when one of them chased a goose into the pond. She fell through the ice while trying to save it and people nearby called the fire department.
Two people at a nearby business supplied rope to help save her. The woman was taken to a hospital, but her name and medical condition were not released.
