Wood, Pa., 74 Steve Lashinsky, 74, Wood, Pa., died Friday, December 14, 2012, at Altoona Regional Hospital. His death was unexpected.
He was born in Wood, Pa., July 13, 1938, a son of the late Eva (Warholic) and Wasco Lashinsky.
He was united in marriage June 16, 1962, to Nancy L. Lazor in Winchester, Va.; she survives at home.
He is survived by a daughter, Stephanie, wife of Dale Gaaes, Osterburg; and a son, Wayne, husband of Patricia (Coner) Lashinksy, Waterfall; four grandchildren: Tyler, Kayla, Haley and Kaelonni; and two brothers: Harry of Wood and Paul Lashinsky of Six Mile run.
He was preceded in death by three sisters: Anna Clark, Mary McCue and Helen Miller; and four brothers: Wasco, Pete, John and George Lashinsky.
He worked as a laborer at Local Union No. 910. He had also worked for the operating engineers and was part owner of the Twin Gables I in Broad Top City.
He was a 1956 graduate of Robertsdale High School and a lifetime member of the R.W.&B.T. Volunteer Fire Co. During his life he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Funeral services were held at Curtis A. Heath Funeral Home Inc., Broad Top City, Wednesday, December 19, at 11 a.m. Pastor Suzanne Dettelrine officiated. Burial was in IOOF Cemetery, Broad Top City.
