FFA Members Receive Area FFA Degree
McConnellsburg FFA members Cody Trail and Sara Wenschhof received their BBF Area FFA degree last week at a ceremony in Altoona. Cody and Sara were two of approximately 28 FFA members from Blair, Bedford, Fulton FFA chapters to receive this award. They qualified for the degree because of their work on their supervised agriculture experience projects.
Cody’s SAE project for 2012 was working on his grandfather’s dairy farm on weekends. He kept records of the tasks he performed and the skills that he learned while working.
Sara has completed SAE books for the past two years on raising her rabbits and her sheep. She included in her records her income and expenses for all her animals and her future plans for improving and increasing her sheep flock and rabbit numbers.
Cody and Sara are one year away from receiving their state FFA degree. If they complete an SAE project for the 2013 year, they will receive the Keystone FFA Degree in January of 2014.
Also honored last week at the banquet was Krista Deshong, who will be receiving her Keystone Degree at the Pennsylvania Farm Show, January 7, 2013.
