Weighs In On Selling Eagle Scout Recognition
To The Editor
As a former Boy Scout and adult Scout leader for many years, I was at first pleasantly surprised to see the “Eagle Wall of Honor” at Camp Sinoquipe! This highest rank in Scouting is achieved by only a few very fine young men who must design and organize a special community service project as one of their many requirements.
However, upon closer observation, I was appalled to find out that the only way to get your name on this “Wall of Honor” is to make a $500 donation to the Boy Scouts!
These exceptional young men should not have to buy recognition!
