McCbg. Bands To Hold Christmas Concert

The music program at McConnellsburg is proud to announce its 2012 Christmas Band Concert to be held on Wednesday night, December 19, at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium.

The program will feature the middle school and high school bands performing various Christmas tunes. The middle school band will begin with all 46 performers playing three songs from the Essential Elements Book for beginners including “Jingle Bells,” “Up on the Housetop,” and “Jolly Old Saint Nicolas.” This will give an opportunity for all beginners to feel a part of the Christmas program.

The middle school band (minus beginners) will then perform six Christmas selections, including “ Good King Wenceslas,” “Do You Hear What I Hear,” “Carol of the Drum,” “Christmas Trilogy,” “Christmas Proclamation” and “ Feliz Navidad.” This large group of students has doubled in size the last two years.

The high school band will play a variety of pieces, including “Holly Jolly Christmas,” “Winter Wonderland,” “ Pacem Noel,” “The Ange’s Mix,” and perhaps others.

The band recently placed third behind James Buchanan and Clear Spring in the Chambersburg Christmas parade with the tune “Jingle Bell Rock,” and will perform it along with the band front.

There is no admission charge for this performance, however, donations will be gladly accepted. Please come and support the music program at Mc- Connellsburg and plan to spend an evening listening to some enjoyable Christmas music.
