Man Guilty In Rape-Murder- Arson Attack On Pa. Clan
PHILADELPHIA (AP) – A Philadelphia man faces life in prison for the rape, murder and arson attack on members of his ex- girlfriend’s family.
Forty-one-year-old Cam Luong Tran pleaded guilty to first-degree murder and other charges Friday and faces a mandatory life sentence for the 2007 attack.
KYW-TV reports Tran broke into the former home of his ex-girlfriend, after she moved out of state to get away from him.
When the woman’s 17- year-old sister came home, he tied her to a bed and raped her. He then fatally stabbed his ex-girlfriend’s mother when she came home and set the house afire with the younger sister still tied to the bed. She got free and jumped from a bedroom window, but not before suffering severe burns that required her hand to be amputated.
She identified Tran for police.
