Disbarred W.Pa. Lawyer Charged In Felony Thefts
UNIONTOWN, Pa. (AP) – A disbarred Pennsylvania attorney faces felony theft charges after allegations that he kept restitution money from his clients instead of handing it over to the court.
Forty-four-year-old Nicholas Timperio Jr. of Uniontown was arraigned Friday on charges of theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.
In the first case, police said Timperio received $8,500 from a client to pay required restitution in an October 2010 criminal case but he failed to make the payment to Fayette County Court.
In the second set of charges, police said Timperio took $2,000 from another client to make restitution to a victim in a criminal case in May 2011 but never made the payment.
The felony theft charges come months after he was disbarred amid similar allegations by other clients.
