CF To Hold Christmas Concert

Central Fulton School District is proud to announce its annual Christmas choral concert on Tuesday night, December 11. The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m., in McConnellsburg High School auditorium.

The concert will begin “in the dark” with a number of candlelight tunes. The Middle School Sopranos will open the concert with the Latin text to “O Come All Ye Faithful” followed by the senior chorus singing the chorus to “O Come O Come Emmanuel” with solos from Larkin Shearer, Aaron Strait, and Nathan Peters. The middle school choir continues the program with the short “Christmas Lullaby.”

One of the regional chorus girls last year, Katelynn Mellott, will present a solo entitled “Midnight Noel.” Sophmores Hannah Ott and Abbey Peck will sing a duet called “Hodie Christus Natus Est.” The middle school chorus will then present “The Innkeeper’s Carol.”

The senior solo for this concert will feature Lucas Youngblood, Brandi Welsh, and Caitlin Glazier singing “O Holy Night.” With the stage lights on, the middle school portion of the concert will feature four upbeat tunes including: “Don’t Want to Wait,” “Up on the Housetop,” “It’s the Very Best Time of the Year,” and “Christmas in the Tropics.” Both choirs will join in singing “Welcome the Holidays” before the senior chorus takes the stage for the last portion of the concert. The senior chorus will begin with four sacred Christmas songs: “Mary Mary,” “Christ Was Born For This,” “Once Upon A Silent Night,” and “How Many Miles Must We Go.”

Junior Deanne Dickerson will entertain the audience with “The Christmas Song.” The concert concludes with three secular numbers: “A Charlie Brown Christmas,” “Merry Christmas Darling,” and “Christmas in Three Quarter Time.”

The concert is free, but donations are always accepted. All are welcome.
