Sadie A. Mills Hamburg, 89
Sadie A. Mills, 89, Hamburg, and formerly of Dry Run, died Monday, November 19, 2012, in the emergency room at Reading Hospital.
Born January 17, 1923, in Three Springs, she was a daughter of the late Harry S. and Golda M. Harnish Browand.
Early in her life she had worked one season at the former H.J. Heinz Co. in Chambersburg. She and her late husband owned and operated The Pines Tavern in Fannettsburg.
She was a member of First Church of God in Newburg and attended Dry Run Church of the Brethren. Her husband, Mosco D. Mills, preceded her in death December 25, 1996.
She is survived by two sons: Glever Horton and wife Suzanne of Hamburg and Thomas D. Horton and wife Carol of York; three stepchildren: Wesley Mills and wife Fern of Carlisle; Donald Mills and wife Cindy of Dry Run; and Susan Stains, Hustontown; four grandchildren; and six greatgrandchildren; a brother, Samuel Browand of Scranton, and Betty Horton of Altoona; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothes; one sister; three halfbrothers; and two halfsisters.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Saturday, November 24, at Agett-Geisel Funeral Home, Dry Run. Rev. Roy Fahnestock and Rev. Tim Vaughn officiated. Interment was made in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Shade Gap.
