Horse & Pony Club Competes At State Show

The 4-H Horse & Pony Club members recently competed at the 2012 State Horse Show.

Rachel Barmont competed with “ They’re Talkin Frost” in Western Horsemanship (junior rider) and placed ninth. She also competed in Western Grooming and Showmanship (junior division), placing second; and in Western Pleasure Horses (junior rider), placing second.

Krista DeShong competed with “South Lawns Early Dawn” in Miniature Horse (registered-yearling fillies) and placed fifth. She also competed with “American Revolution” in Hunt Seat Equitation (on the flat-senior rider).

Caitlin Glazier competed with “PSU A Real Shadow” in quarter horse – 2-year-old fillies, placing first. She competed with “PSU Steppin Kuel” in Western Pleasure Futurity – 4- year- olds, and placed third. She also competed with “ Dirty N Smokey” in Western Grooming and showmanship (senior division); and with “Casteele’s Little Bear” in Miniature Horse In-Hand Trail, placing ninth.

Kelsi Kendall competed with “Vin Diesel” in Miniature Type (grade-2- year-old geldings), placing second.

Tory Layton competed with “ Rocky Pines Grand Finale” in Miniature Type (grade-2-yearold geldings), placing fourth. She also competed with “Knight Time Zippo” in Breed Type Hunter Under Saddle (junior rider).

McKenzie Gelvin competed with “Flits Little Star” in Barrel Race Horses ( junior rider) and placed seventh.

Karlie Ward competed with “Friso Legacy” in Warmblood – 3-year-old fillies, placing third.

The club placed first in the District VII Educational Display with “Barn Safety.” Individuals and businesses that supported the club were:
