Blair Wins Pa. State Soccer Shoot

On November 10, 2012, at Park Forrest Middle School, State College, Pa., the Elks held its Pennsylvania Soccer Shoot Championship. Six area youths represented the South Central District. U14 Girl – Sarah Blair, (daughter of Alison & Tim Blair of Greencastle) became the 2012 Pennsylvania State Champion and scored the highest score for any shooter with a new District record of 48. Other shooters were:

U8 Girls: Sawere Truax, daughter of Lisa and Brad Truax of Needmore. Sawere scored 25 points and placed fourth.

U8 Boys: Cabe Batdorff, son of Kimberly and Brian Batdorff of McConnellsburg. Cabe scored 36 points and placed second.

U- 10 Girls: Megan Fix, daughter of Laurie and Todd Fix of Mc- Connellsburg. Megan scored 22 and placed third.

U12 Girls: Cassidy Martin, daughter of Tara and Rodney Martin of Mercersburg. Cassidy scored 29 and placed fourth.

U-14 Boys: Benjamin Voight, son of Lisa and Gary Voight of Warfordsburg. Benji scored 23 and placed fifth.

All the shooters and their families were treated to a pizza pool party Friday night at the Ramada Inn and had a fantastic time, compliments of Chambersburg Elks Lodge #600. Sarah Blair will compete for the Mid- Atlantic National Competition on March 9, 2013, in Hagerstown.
