FR Lions Peace Poster Contest Winners Announced

Forbes Road Lions annual peace poster contest has been completed, and Zoe Cutchall, a sixthgrade student at Forbes Road Elementary is this year’s winner. Zoe’s poster is among more than 350,000 entries submitted worldwide in the 25th annual Lions International Peach Poster contest. The Forbes Road Lions Club awarded Zoe $75 for first place. Second-place winner Logan Deshong received $50, and Brianna Waters and Samantha Henry each received $25 for a third-place tie. Each of the other 25 Forbes Road Elementary sixthgrade students received a $5 bill or participating.

Forbes Road Lions Club President Greg Henry said he was impressed by the expression and creativity of the students at Forbes. “It is obvious that these young people have strong ideas about what peace means to them. I’m so proud that we are able to provide them with the opportunity to share their visions.”

The Forbes Road Lions will be distributing fruit baskets Tuesday, December 11. Anyone knowing of someone who should receive a basket or is new to the Forbes Road area, contact any of the Lions members or call 987-3296 or 987-3395 to have them added to the list.

The Teddy Thanos Memorial basketball tournament, sponsored by Forbes Road Lions Club will be held December 26 and 27. All are invited to attend.
