Special Services Religious Liberty – Dr John Graz, secretary general of the multi-denominational International Religious Liberty Association will be the guest speaker at Needmore Seventh-day Adventist Church, in the village of Needmore at 11 a.m. Saturday morning, November 24. Dr Graz, recipient of numerous international awards for his worldwide work in matters of religious freedom is known around the world as a tireless worker for the cause of religious freedom.

Outreach Schedule McConnellsburg United Methodist Church November outreach schedule is as follows: Wonderful Wednesdays (November 28) – 5:30 p.m. meal and 6:30 p.m. worship; Thanksgiving meal - Thursday, November 22, at noon; Walk Through Bethlehem – Friday, November 30, at noon. Worship services Sunday mornings at 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.; Sunday School at 9:45 a.m. Anyone needing transportation to any of the events may contact the church office at 717- 485-4815 and leave a message. All requests shoud be made at least 48 hours prior to the schedule event.

Contemporary Worship Contemporary worship service will be held at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ Sunday, December 2, at 11 a.m. Informal service with live modern music and children’s message. The Gift Of The Magi “The Gift Of The Magi,” a dramatization of the classic American short story by the American writer known as O’Henry, will be performed by Maranatha Productions at 7 p.m. Sunday, November 25, at Dublin Mills Community Church. Pioneer Club Pioneer Club at Rockhill Mennonite Church will begin for grades kindergarten thru eighth grade. Classes will be held November 28 and December 5, 12 and 19, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. More information may be obtained by calling Kimberly at 485-9074.

RECREATION

Dodgeball Tournament McConnellsburg Alumni & Friends Association will hold a dodgeball tournament Saturday, November 24, at the old MHS gym (alumni community building). Registration will be from noon to 1 p.m., with competition starting at 1 p.m. Teams must have at least six people. Only six members play at a time. How many teams enter will determine the type of tournament offered. Every team guaranteed to play at least two matches. Christmas Tree Show Three Springs Historical Society will sponsor its annual Christmas tree show at Three Springs ambulance building Saturday, November 24, from noon until 6 p.m., and Sunday, November 25, from noon until 5 p.m. Everyone is invited to stop by for light refreshments, door prizes and a Longaberger basket raffle. Any persons, club or organization desiring to display a tree can come to the ambulance building on Friday, November 23, or Saturday morning, November 24, to set up their tree display. Christmas Vocal Recital The voice students of Richard Overcash will present a vocal recital of Christmas music on Saturday, December 8, 2012, at Calvary Bible Church auditorium, 3845 Buchanan Trail West, Greencastle. Area students participating are Nathan Peters, Hannah Ott and Katelynn Mellott.

Indoor Soccer Sign-up Indoor soccer sign-ups will be held Saturday, November 24, 2012, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and December 1 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the alumni community gym. All ages from 4 years old thru sixth grade may sign up. Seventh grade thru adults may sign up individually or sign up your own team of five. Indoor soccer will be played during January, February and part of March. Registration will be $15 a player.

Fulton PASR invites all those interested in seeing the Oglebay Christmas lights to attend. The Oglebay resort (near Wheeling, W.Va.) has more than 300 acres of lights. Call Bollman Bus Service at 814-623-2181 and make reservations by Wednesday, December 12. Cost is $40 per person. Community Wellness/Silver Sneakers/Prime Community Wellness/Silver Sneakers/Prime will be held Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Wednesday and Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at Fulton County Medical Center cardiopulmonary rehab gym. Museum Open Saturday Fulton County All-Sports Museum and the McConnellsburg Alumni Museum will be open on Saturday, November 24, from noon to 5 p.m. during the dodgeball tournament. 55-Alive Driving Offered The classroom refresher course for the 55-Alive/Mature Driving will be offered for free to veterans at Warfordsburg Senior Center November 27 and 28. Classes are from 9:30 a.m. to noon, and two days of classes are required. Preregister either in person or by calling the center. All others can call or mail the check payable to AARP for $14 (per person nonmember) or $12 (per person AARP member) to Warfordsburg Senior Center, 209 Long Hollow Road, Warfordsburg, PA 17267. Graduates of the class, age 55 and over, will be eligible for the 3-year auto insurance discounts. Anyone planning on staying for lunch following the class, please be sure to call 294-6020 one day in advance or when registering. There are no tests involved.

BINGO

Bingo Shade Gap Fire Co. will hold bingo at the Shade Gap Ladies Auxiliary building every Thursday. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and games start at 6:30 p.m.

Bingo McConnellsburg Volunteer Fire Co. bingo games are held every Monday and Friday evenings. Doors open at 6 p.m. and games start at 7 p.m.

Basket Bingo A basket bingo will be held Saturday, December 1, at McConnellsburg American Legion to support Tristan Douglas who was diagnosed with cancer.
