Copper Wire Stolen

Approximately 100 pounds of copper wire and pipes were stolen from a locked barn located at 3565 Pleasant Valley Road in Brush Creek Township. The theft occurred between 10 a.m. and noon on October 27. Victim is a 42-year- old male from Irwin, Pa. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call state police Trooper Garner at 717-485-3131.

Two Escape Harm

A McConnellsburg woman was one of two individuals who escaped harm on November 7 during a twovehicle collision along Buchanan Trail, state police in Chambersburg said.

Police reported Edna M. Burkett, 66, of Greencastle, was attempting to turn right into her driveway when Mc- Connellsburg resident Donna L. Avery attempted to pass Burkett’s 2011 GMC Savanna on the right at 7:34 p.m. Avery’s 2002 Saturn SC2 was disabled as a result of front-end damage.

Avery, 55, and Burkett were both wearing seat belts.

Three Vehicles Disabled

Three vehicles were disabled in a pileup on November 6 along Great Cove Road in Todd Township, Pennsylvania State Police in Mc- Connellsburg reported.

A northbound 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser driven by Susan V. Brant, 44, of Waterfall, was rear-ended by a 2001 Hyundai Accent operated by Jonathan T. Marling, 22, of Hustontown, at 4:27 p.m. As a result of the initial impact, Brant’s car was pushed into the rear of Laura M. Mellott, 57, of McConnellsburg. Police noted Mellott had been stopped at 23393 Great Cove Road waiting to turn into her driveway when the collision occurred.

Only Brant suffered injuries in the accident. She was transported via ambulance to Fulton County Medical Center. All three drivers were wearing a seat belt.

Police are slated to charge Marling with driving a vehicle at unsafe speeds.

SUV Stolen

A black 2000 Mercedes- Benz ML320 sport utility vehicle was stolen from a pole barn located at 260 Locust Grove Road in Brush Creek Township. State police investigators said the vehicle was taken on Wednesday, November 7, between 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. It was last seen heading north on Old 126. Victim is a 79-year-old Warfordsburg area man. Anyone having information pertinent to this theft of a vehicle should contact state police Trooper Garner at 717-485-3131.

Vehicle Disabled In Fire

A 1989 Chevrolet 1500 became disabled after it caught fire along Great Cove Road in Ayr Township last Friday evening. According to state police reports, 20-year-old Daniel Allen Akers of Mc- Connellsburg was travelling southbound at 8:50 p.m. when he noticed flames coming from under the hood of his truck. Police said by the time Akers pulled onto the berm, the flames had gotten higher. Akers managed to contain the flames until the McConnellsburg Volunteer Fire Co. arrived on the scene.

Area Men Injured

Two Fulton County men suffered non-life-threatening injuries during a single-vehicle accident at 9400 Buchanan Trail West, Franklin County.

Pennsylvania State Police in Chambersburg said Steven Patrick Moore, of Harrisonville, lost control control of his westbound 1996 Ford Escort on Thursday, November 8. The car went off the Montgomery Township roadway at 4:21 p.m. and struck a utility pole.

Police noted the vehicle suffered severe front- end damage and was towed from the scene.

Police did not indicate if Moore and his passenger, James Elkins, of Mc- Connellsburg, were using seat belts.

Windows Broken

Four windows were broken out of an old, white schoolhouse located at the intersection of Big Cove Tannery and Johnson roads between 9 p.m. on October 11 and noon on October 12. Victim is a Big Cove Tannery woman, who estimated the damage at $400. Anyone having additional information regarding this case of criminal mischief should call state police Trooper Huff at 717-485- 3131.

Three Escape Harm

Three individuals escaped injury during a two-vehicle accident along Lincoln Highway on Friday, November 9, state police reported.

Nineteen-year-old York resident Aaron J. Goodyear was travelling westbound at 10:05 a.m. when he failed to negotiate a right-hand curve in the Ayr Township roadway. His 2002 Nissan Altima struck the driver’s side front wheel area of a 1995 Kenworth T600 driven by Desmond D. Brown, 33, of Milwaukee, Wis.

Goodyear, Brown and Brown’s passenger, Leila A. Muhsen, 41, also of Milwaukee, were wearing seat belts. Both vehicles were disabled. Goodyear was cited by state police for driving on vehicles laned for traffic.

Yard Damaged

Unknown individuals spun their vehicle tires throughout a yard located at 11145 Waterfall Road in Dublin Township between 11 p.m. on November 2 and 5 a.m. on November 3. Approximately $100 in damage was sustained. Victim is a Mc- Connellsburg area man. Anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity near the intersection of Great Cove and Waterfall roads during this time period should call state police Trooper Huff at 717-485-3131.

Engines Stolen

Five Briggs and Stratton lawn mower engines were stolen from a garage at 208 Lincoln Way East in Mc- Connellsburg Borough between October 31 and November 7. Victim is a 17-yearold McConnellsburg boy. Anyone with information is urged to contact state police Trooper Sprague at 717-485- 3131.

Liquor Law Violation Reported

The Pennsylvania State Police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement released a liquor law violation this week that allegedly occurred for two years proceeding September 25, 2012. According to reports, during that time frame, employees, agents or servants at Clevenger’s Beverage Connection Inc. in Mc- Connellsburg failed to maintain complete and truthful records regarding the operation of their licensed business.
