Casey and Calli Brown enjoyed a visit with grandparents Lanny and Deb Cornelius this weekend while big sister Cody Brown was a terrific helper for an estate sale. The girls are the daughters of Nick and Shannon Brown.

Walnut Grove senior youths held their annual fall lock-in over the weekend at the fellowship building. Costume winners were Steven Mills, Brianne Fleck and Cora Waite, David Glunt, Dison Myers, and Cody Myers and Jen. A big thank-you is extended to judges Barb Frehn, Gail Stains and Betty Ramsey. Plenty of fun games were played, with some intense challenges. Attending were Alex and Christian Cornelius, DJ Stains, Dane Rhoades, Dezaray Swope, Dustin Barr, David Glunt, Steven Mills, Kevin, Lynette, Ryan and Brianne Fleck, Cora Waite, Joe, Melanie, Cody and Dison Myers and Jen. A good time was had by all.

Recent visitors in the home of the Steve Grissinger family were Buzz and Bea Covert, Tom and Mamie Streightiff, Gordon and Donna Locke, Travis Madden, James Locke, and Ramon and Tammy Martin.

Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Co. will hold shooting matches on Saturdays beginning at 1 p.m. Shells will be provided.

Karen Grissinger has been writing the Maddensville items for more than 20 years. She has decided to retire from writing the news at the end of this year.
