Jim and Faye Butts observed their 45th wedding anniversary on October 28.

Dora and Cindy Lynch and Dora’s niece, Adrian Miller, and friend of Chambersburg recently enjoyed a cruise to the Bahamas.

The celebration for Ruth Souders, unfortunately, has to be cancelled. There will be a card shower for her. Her address is Fulton County Medical Center, Overly- Raker Section, Room 22A, for those wishing to send a card. Her 100th birthday is November 13.

Dorothea Weller Hann is now a resident of Fulton County Medical Center Long-Term-Care Unit. Her room number is 32B, Overly- Raker Section.

Hurricane Sandy didn’t hit the community as hard as the coastal areas. There were some areas in the county without electricity for three days or more.

Southern Fulton School hosted the county band festival November 2. Junior and senior high students from Southern Fulton, Forbes Road and Central Fulton districts took part.

Asbury United Methodist Church held a soup and sandwich sale on Saturday.

Public Opinion female student-athlete of the week was Nikki Fleming of Mc- Connellsburg. She is a centerfielder for the Lady Spartan soccer team. Fleming leads in assists with 18 this year and is third in scoring. Nikki is a senior and also plays basketball and participates in track and field. She is the daughter of Terry and Ginger Fleming.

Josh Hill was also named Public Opinion studentathlete of the week for Southern Fulton soccer.

A surprise 80th birthday party was held for Mary Johnston at her home, given by her family, on Sunday.

Sympathy goes out to the families of Freda Raker and Carl Davis, husband of the late Betty Culler Davis, who passed away last week.

Bob and Petie Miller will observe their 50th wedding anniversary November 10.

Rev. Neil Ray led the worship service on Sunday in McConnellsburg St. Paul Lutheran Church. He is affiliated with the Lutheran Seminary in Indiana. He is the son of Ken and Bonnie Ray of Mary- land, former Fulton County residents.
