Get well wishes to Andy Goshorn who developed heart problems while flying. After a successful surgery, he is recovering at home.

Terri Grissinger ran the “Fall Down” 5k run at Whitetail Fall Festivities last weekend.

James Locke and daughter Kaylee visited with Gordon and Donna Locke on Sunday afternoon after services at Immanuel Bible Church.

Donna Locke recently spent a week visiting with Julie Locke Martin and daughter Stacy and family while Julie was undergoing back surgery. She is recovering at a rehab center and then will be able to return home. We wish her a speedy recovery.

Congratulations to Dison Myers on his third-place finish at the Virginia Beach wrestling tournament over the weekend.

Buzz and Bea Covert and John and Mary Mumma dined out on Saturday evening to celebrate John’s birthday. Last weekend Buzz and Bea Covert received VIP treatment at the pre-opening of the new Texas Roadhouse in Chambersburg.

Irene Park of Meadowview Manor enjoyed a visit from her pooch, “Joy,” last week one day while Gordon Locke was running errands.

There is a Bible study on Sunday evenings at 7 p.m. at Orbisonia Firehall being led by Pastor Ed Seeley. This event is open to everyone.

Community choir has begun practicing at Orbisonia United Methodist Church at 7: 15 p. m. on Thursday evenings. If you would like to participate, please plan to attend. It is always a blessing to witness and experience this annual event. This year program will have parts acted out by participants of the choir.

Walnut Grove ladies prayer group enjoyed some shopping near Grove City last weekend for their monthly outing.

This weekend six couples from Walnut Grove Church visited the town of Wellsboro and the Pennsylvania Little Grand Canyon.

We were fortunate to escape the wrath of Hurricane Sandy with mostly rain and some wind. Our prayers go out to the many that were not so lucky.

Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Co. shooting matches have started on Saturdays at 1 p.m.

A big thank-you to our veterans this Veterans Day and every day for the sacrifices they have made for our freedoms.
