Outreach Schedule McConnellsburg United Methodist Church November outreach schedule is as follows: Wonderful Wednesdays (November 7 and 28) – 5:30 p.m. meal and 6:30 p.m. worship; Thanksgiving meal - Thursday, November 22, at noon; Walk Through Bethlehem – Thursday, November 22 at noon. Worship services Sunday mornings at 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.; Sunday School at 9:45 a.m. Anyone needing transportation to any of the events may contact the church office at 717-485-4815 and leave a message. All requests shoud be made at least 48 hours prior to the schedule event.

Pioneer Club Pioneer Club at Rockhill Mennonite Church will begin for grades kindergarten thru eighth grade. Classes will be held November 24 and 28 and December 5, 12 and 19, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. More information may be obtained by calling Kimberly at 485-9074.

Special Services/Free Meal Hancock United Methodist Church, located at 168 W. Main Street, Hancock, will hold a service at 2 p.m., and a free meal to any area veteran and a guest from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, November 11. All veterans are welcome. Bible Conference Knobsville Church of the Brethren will hold a Bible conference November 11-14, led by Pastor Fred Thomson of Easley, S.C. The conference is entitled “The Joy Robbers: A Study in Philippians.” Conference will be held Sunday at 10:30 a.m. and evenings at 7 p.m. All are invited. RECREATION

Winter Craft Show A winter craft show with more than vendors will be held Saturday, November 17, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, November 18, from noon to 4 p.m., at Shade Gap Auxiliary Building and Shade Gap Firehall. Homemade food will be available at both locations.

Mel’s 5K Walk/Run Mel’s 5K Walk/Run for a Wish will be held Saturday, November 10, at 9 a.m., at Southern Fulton High School. Proceeds benefit Make-A-Wish Foundation. Garden Club Christmas Party North End Garden Club will meet for the Christmas party Tuesday, December 4, at 11:30 a.m., at Jean Bonnet in Bedford. In place of exchange gifts, bring a monetary donation to be collected for the Fulton County Food Basket. More information may be obtained by calling 717-485-5736.

Open Stage Open stage will be held at Hustontown Firehall Saturday, November 24, at 6 p.m. Kitchen opens at 5 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend and share their talent. A good time to enjoy an evening out.

New York City Trip Modern Woodmen Youth Group is sponsoring a day “on your own” trip to New York City November 17. Cost is $50 per person. Leave McConnellsburg at 6:15 a.m., pit stop, arrive in NYC around 11:15 a.m., leave NYC at 6:30 p.m. A nonrefundable payment of $50 is due to hold seat and will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Christmas Dinner Auction Fulton County Community Christian School will host its annual Christmas dinner auction Saturday, November 10, at Needmore Bible Church. A silent auction will begin at 3:30 p.m. A buffet dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m., followed by the traditional auction at 6:30 p.m. Hundreds of items to bid on ranging from handcrafted furniture and crafts to antiques, guns, hunting and fishing gear and supplies, household decorations, framed prints, jewelry and much more. Dinner reservations are required. Tickets may be obtained by calling 717-573-4400 or 717-485-3496. Donations for the silent and/or traditional auctions are being accepted and appreciated. Items may be dropped at the school or arrangements for pickup can be made.

Colonial Christmas The second annual Colonial Christmas will be held on Sunday, November 18, at 3 p.m. in the newly constructed summer kitchen at the state historic site of Fort Loudoun, located on N. Brooklyn Road, off Route 30, just east of Ft. Loudon.The public is invited to come and enjoy a cup of mulled cranberry tea, cookies and other goodies. The log kitchen will be decorated as in colonial times. Anne Gale, Chambersburg, will entertain with the lap dulcimer, and Dr. Terry Musselman, the hammered dulcimer and psaltry. John Shindledecker, Zullinger, will tell the Colonial Christmas story, “Miracle In The Wilderness.” Free admission. Free parking. For more information, call 369-3318.

Variety Show Hancock Arts Council will hold a variety show, “There’s No Business Like Show Business,” Friday, Nov. 16, at 7 p.m. in the Hancock Performing Arts Center at Town Hall, 126 West High Street, Hancock, Md. The show will include a variety of entertainment by area talent, some surprise guests, some legends may appear and light refreshments. Admission by donation. Bus Trip Modern Woodmen of America Camp 7948 will sponsor a bus trip to New York City Saturday, December 1. The bus departs from McConnellsburg Courthouse at 6 a.m. A stop will be made for breakfast at approximately 8:15 a.m. and arrive in New York City near Macy’s at approximately 11:30 a.m. Depart New York City near 9th Ave., between 44th and 45th streets at 6:15 p.m. A stop will be made halfway home for supper. Estimated arrival back in McConnellsburg is 12:15 a.m. Cost for transportation and a buffet breakfsat is $50 per person. McConnellsburg AA Meetings The McConnellsburg Chapter of Alcoholics Anonymous will meet on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. every week at the Alumni Building Basement, McConnellsburg.

Community Wellness/Silver Sneakers/Prime Community Wellness/Silver Sneakers/Prime will be held Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Wednesday and Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at Fulton County Medical Center cardiopulmonary rehab gym. Addicts Helping Addicts Addicts Helping Addicts meets every Wednesday at 6 p.m. This is a peer-led support group for addicts struggling with drug addiction and needing help in their recovery. Free Meal A free pasta and salad meal will be held November 13 from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Asbury United Methodist Church, 7404 Lincoln Highway, Harrisonville. All are welcome.

Free Meal Free community meal Saturday November 10, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., at Knobsville United Methodist Church. Everyone is invited to attend. There is no charge for this meal, but donations will be accepted. The church is located at 11048 Waterfall Road.

Apple/Cherry Pie Sale Family Life Committee of St. Stephen Catholic Church will sponsor a Grandma Ann’s Thanksgiving apple and cherry pie sale Saturday, November 18. The cost of the pies are $8 for plain topping and $9 for crumb topping. The pies will be available after 9 a.m., Saturday, November 18. To place an order call 485-5917.

Potpie Supper The women’s ministry of Orchard Ridge First Church of God will sponsor a chicken and ham potpie supper on Saturday, Nov. 10, from 4-7 p.m. Free will offering. More info may be obtained by calling 301-678-5423.

Turkey Dinner Shade Gap Area Fire Co. Auxiliary will hold its annual turkey dinner Saturday, November 10, at 4 p.m. at the auxiliary building. Cost is $9 for adults and $4.50 for children 4-12 and under 4 are free. Proceeds benefit Shade Gap Fire Co. Auxiliary.

Free Meal A free meal will be served the second Tuesday of each month at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 220 North Third Street. Please join in for good fellowship.

Operation Christmas Child Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes, sponsored annually by Samaritan’s Purse, will be collected at My Father’s House Ministries located at 1635 Lincoln Way West, McConnellsburg, during the week of November 12-19. Operation Christmas Child Collection Site Needmore Bible Church will serve as a collection site for Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes between November 12 and November 19.

55-Alive Driving Offered The classroom refresher course for the 55-Alive/Mature Driving will be offered for free to veterans at Warfordsburg Senior Center November 27 and 28. Classes are from 9:30 a.m. to noon, and two days of classes are required. Preregister either in person or by calling the center. All others can call or mail the check payable to AARP for $14 (per person nonmember) or $12 (per person AARP member) to Warfordsburg Senior Center, 209 Long Hollow Road, Warfordsburg, PA 17267. Graduates of the class, age 55 and over, will be eligible for the 3-year auto insurance discounts. Anyone planning on staying for lunch following the class, please be sure to call 294-6020 one day in advance or when registering. There are no tests involved.

Red Neck Basket Bingo A Red Neck basket bingo will be held Saturday, November 10, at the Alumni Community Building. Proceeds support the building. Sponsors, baskets, door prizes, silent auction, baked goods, water, soda, Gatorade, hot dogs, barbecues, rolls, candy, nachos and cheese are needed. Anyone who can help or donate, please contact Mrs. Kendall at 485-0221 or 377-3643. Doors open at 5:30 and bingo starts at 6:30 p.m. Admission is $ 25 and includes 20 games plus four specials and door prizes. Baskets filled with goodies. There will be a raffle for a gun and one special will be for a fisherman’s combo. King Tut, raffles, jars and 50/50 will be available.

Bingo Shade Gap Fire Co. will hold bingo at the Shade Gap Ladies Auxiliary building every Thursday. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and games start at 6:30 p.m.

Bingo McConnellsburg Volunteer Fire Co. bingo games are held every Monday and Friday evenings. Doors open at 6 p.m. and games start at 7 p.m.

MEETINGS

PASR Meeting Fulton PASR invites all school retirees to help celebrate. They are 45 and PASR is 75. The group will meet in McConnellsburg Lutheran Church Thursday, November 8, starting at 9 a.m. to celebrate. Those honored will be the current members who are 75 and over and will get a free meal. Singles Meeting Knobsville Singles will meet Monday, November 12, at 9 a.m, at K’s Place.

Sportsmen’s League Meeting Fulton County Sportsmen’s League will meet at 7:30 p.m. in the stone house at the trout nursery November 16. The league meets the third Friday of each month except July and August. Please mark calendars and attend each meeting to share input on decisions affecting the organization. A variety of proposals will be submitted by the board of directors for discussion and decisions. The drawing for the fall raffle will be held at the conclusion of the meeting.
