SF Cross-Country Teams Clinch District 5-AA Title


Southern Fulton Girls and Boys District 5-AA team Southern Fulton Girls and Boys District 5-AA team Southern Fulton Indian boys and girls crosscountry teams both clinched a District 5-AA championship title last Wednesday when they competed at Bedford Technology Center.

The boys overcame Meyersdale, Chestnut Ridge and Hyndman to win the title with 34 points. Tyler Richards continued to put forth a strong effort, finishing in second place for the Indians with an overall time of 17:25. Josh Voight was fourth with his time of 17:45. Mason Bard and Jacob Ashkettle were 12th and 13th, respectively, and Jacob Pryor finished in 15th place.

The girls downed Hyndman after finishing the meet with 26 points. Macey Hollenshead was in second place overall with her time of 21:35, and Gabby Danner was 10th with a time of 24:17. Melanie Deneen was 11th, and Lindsey Pryor and Emma Williams were 19th and 25th overall.

The teams will next compete at the PIAA state championships in Hershey scheduled for November 3.
