Southern Fulton 4

Forbes Road 3

Southern Fulton and Forbes Road squared off in their final match of the year, with the Indians prevailing in overtime by the score of 4-3. Taylor Bohrer tallied three goals and an assist for the victorious Indians, and Richie Trumpower added the final goal. Morgan Strait and Josh Hill had two and one assists, respectively.

Dalton Gilbert, Garrett Bard and Cordell Strait each recorded a goal for Forbes Road. Cardinal goalie Mack Hawkins finished with eight saves, and Indian goalkeeper Shad Gordon had 13 saves.

Northern Bedford 2

McConnellsburg 1

Northern Bedford clinched the Sideling Hill League soccer title last Monday with a 2-1 win in overtime against the McConnellsburg Spartans. Colton Strait scored the lone goal for the Spartans on an assist from Jesse Swope. Nick Daniels, goalkeeper, rounded out the league game with 13 saves.

Southern Fulton 2

Everett pulled away with a goal in double overtime to defeat the Southern Fulton Indians 3-2 last Monday. Josh Hill and Taylor Bohrer scored goals for the Indians following the halftime break, and Bohrer also had an assist. Goalie Shad Gordon totalled nine saves.

Chestnut Ridge 1

Some key tactics by both the McConnellsburg Lady Spartan offense and defense allowed for a 3-1 win over Chestnut Ridge. During the opening round of District 5 playoffs, the Spartans fought back valiantly, connecting for all three goals following the halftime break. Nikki Fleming, Andy Peck and Alexis Mellott all had goals for Mc- Connellsburg, while Mellott, Fleming and Sarra Kendall all had assists. Sam Roberts closed out the day in goal with 12 saves.

McConnellsburg 9

Johnstown Christian 0

In their final outing before advancing to the District 5-A tournament, the McCon- nellsburg Lady Spartans offense easily downed Johnstown Christian last Tuesday with nine unanswered goals. Abby Peck had three goals to lead the Spartans during the nonleague win, while Nikki Fleming had a goal and three assists. Brittany Parson, Sarra Kendall and Jordin Smith all finished with a goal and an assist. Leah Mellott and Sam Roberts had goals as well.

McConnellsburg 11

Northern Bedford 0

McConnellsburg finished out its final Sideling Hill League game of the season undefeated with a 11- 0 trouncing of Northern Bedford. Sarra Kendall totalled four goals and two assists, while Nikki Fleming added four goals and one assist. Teammates Alexis Mellott, Haley Garlock and Sam Roberts each had a goal as well. Others adding assists were Roberts (3), Brittany Parson, Jordin Smith and Haiden Madden.

Southern Fulton 1

After dropping the first set to the Southern Fulton Lady Indians last Tuesday, Fannett-Metal made a push to overtake the Indians 3-1. Emily Barton had four kills, five blocks and seven service points to lead the Indians during the Sideling Hill League match. Abby Hawkins totalled four kills and 10 assists, while Shay Smartt added three kills, six digs and seven points. Erika Mellott finished with three blocks, eight points and two aces, and Kristen Rohm added eight digs and seven service points.

McConnellsburg 3

Tussey Mountain 2

McConnellsburg pushed it to five sets last Tuesday to slide by the Tussey Mountain Titans 3-2. Jess Keefer racked up 14 kills, nine blocks and four aces for the Spartans in the Sideling Hill League match. Kylie Keefer chipped in eight kills, and Gabby Danner tallied 25 assists. Brandi Welsh finished with 19 digs, and teammates Caitlin Lynch and Heaven Daniels added 16 and 12 digs respectively.

Hancock 0

Southern Fulton broke a seven-game losing streak last Monday with a 3-0 nonleague win over Hancock, Md. Emily Barton led her Lady Indian teammates with seven kills and two blocks, and Chelsey Sipes added six kills. Erika Mellott tallied two blocks, 12 service points and two aces, while teammate Kristin Rohm had six points and two aces. Abby Hawkins closed out the day with 17 assists and seven service points.

McConnellsburg 3

Northern Bedford 2

McConnellsburg closed out its regular season play last Thursday on a good note with a 3- 2 Sideling Hill League win over Northern Bedford. Jess Keefer rallied for a whopping 21 kills and nine blocks, and Caitlin Lynch followed with seven kills and 19 digs. Heaven Daniels totaled 27 digs and three aces, while Gabby Danner handed out 31 assists. Brandi Welsh added 17 digs.

Carlisle Christian 1

The Fulton County Community Christian School recently pulled off a big win over Carlisle Christian, winning the non-league match 3-1. Jenae Gordon rallied for 14 service points, five aces, 15 kills and 10 digs. Hannah Beddow added 22 assists, and Sarah Gingerich finished with nine digs and seven kills.
