Money Stolen In Break-In
Approximately $860 was stolen between 2 p.m. on October 12 and 12:30 a.m. on October 16, state police reported. The money had been collected as rent money from tenants living at 802 East Poplar Street in McConnellsburg Borough. McConnellsburg Man Charged In Accident
A McConnellsburg man will be charged by state police with following two closely after a two-vehicle accident along Great Cove Road on Sunday, October 21.
Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg reported Christy Morgan, 46, of Fort Littleton, was stopped for another vehicle turning left at 3:17 p.m. at the intersection of Martin Road. Morgan’s 1990 Oldsmobile Ciera was struck from behind by a 1999 Pontiac Firebird operated by Kevin M. Pittman, 18, of McConnellsburg.
Pittman was not injured, but Morgan and her passenger, a 12-year-old girl from McConnellsburg, suffered minor injuries. All three individuals were using a seat belt.
Teen Accused Of Assault
A 17-year- old girl from Warfordsburg has been accused of punching another 17-year-old girl, also from Warfordsburg, and attacking her with a pair of scissors. The aggravated assault occurred at 444 Plessinger Road in Brush Creek Township on Monday, October 22, at 9:30 p.m., state police said. The teen has been charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment.
Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg responded to a burglary that occurred at 4677 Old 126 on Wednesday, October 24.
Police reported burglars entered two buildings at the Union Township property between 11 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. One shed door had been pried open, and the back door of a residence had been pushed open. It is believed nothing was stolen during the break-in.Victim is a 78- year-old man from Elverson, Pa.

Two Teens Cited For Harassment
Two McConnellsburg boys have been charged with harassment following a physical altercation at Mc- Connellsburg High School on Wednesday, October 24. Cited through Magisterial District Judge Wendy Mellott for the 2:50 p.m. incident was a 16-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy.
A mailbox along West Orchard Road in Thompson Township was targeted by unknown individuals who caused $100 in damages, state police reported. The incident occurred sometime October 21 or 22. Victim is a 64-year- old Mercersburg area man.
One hundred twenty dollars was stolen from a purse located at McDonald’s in McConnellsburg Borough on Saturday, October 20. Victim is a 16-year-old McConnellsburg woman. Anyone having additional information linked to this theft is urged to contact state police Trooper Carper at 717-485-3131.
Vehicle Roll Overs
Pennsylvania State Police at the McConnellsburg substation were dispatched to Grist Mill Road on Sunday, October 21, to investigate a vehicle rollover.
Police said Hagerstown, Md. resident Shirley M. Her- bert was travelling eastbound on the Dublin Township road when her 2000 Ford Windstar travelled onto the berm. The van continued through a yard and rolled over onto a parked 2000 Chevrolet Venture.
Police noted Herbert, 63, was wearing a seat belt and escaped harm during the 4:24 p.m. rollover. She will be cited for failure to drive on roadways laned for traffic.
Woman Charged With Harassment
Forty- six-year- old Mc- Connellsburg resident Dawn Marie Pecho has been charged by state police with harassment in connection with an incident in Mc- Connellsburg Borough.
Police alleged Pecho argued with a 43-year-old Mc- Connellsburg man at 11:30 p.m. on Friday, October 26. Pecho reportedly struck the man on the left side of his head with a closed fist. She has been charged through Magisterial District Judge Wendy Mellott.
Log Splitter Stolen
A red and black North Star 20-ton log splitter was stolen from 3467 Stoney Break Road, Warfordsburg between 10 a.m. on October 27 and 6 p.m. on October 28. Victim is a 58-year-old Warfordsburg man. Anyone having further information regarding this case of theft should call state police Trooper Poole at 717-485- 3131.
Death Linked To Natural Causes
A Crystal Spring man recently died as a result of natural causes, according to Pennsylvania State Police at the McConnellsburg barracks. Sixty-three-year-old David Roy Rugg was reportedly discovered at his 183 Camp Meeting Road residence by a friend.
Police said Fulton County Deputy Coroner Robert Fleegle pronounced the Brush Creek Township man dead at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 27. Cause of death, Fleegle reported, was acute myocardial infarction due to hypertension as well as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Hit And Run Reported
A McConnellsburg man allegedly fled the scene of a hit-and-run accident along Lincoln Way West over the weekend.
According to state police reports, 19-year-old Robert T. Christopher Jr. was travelling eastbound on Sunday, October 28, when he reportedly fell asleep at the wheel of his 2000 Dodge Dakota. The truck travelled onto the sidewalk and hit a parking meter and a tree at 5:20 a.m.
Police said Christopher fled the scene without notifying officers of the crash in the McConnellsburg Borough. He was wearing a seat belt and escaped injury.
Police Investigate Trespassing
A 44-year-old Big Cove Tannery man told state police investigators he saw a man hunting on his property at 2144 Waltz Road in Ayr Township between 7:30 a.m. and 7:40 a.m. on Monday, October 29.
