M. Leehan Fisher Chambersburg, 88

M. Leehan Fisher, 88, Chambersburg, formerly of Big Cove Tannery, died Thursday, October 25, 2012, at Manorcare Health Services in Chambersburg, Pa.

She was born March 10, 1924, in Hancock, Md., the daughter of the late Raymond and Hattie (Gregory) Fisher.

She was a farmer on the family farm her entire life.

She was a member of Damascus Christian Church in Big Cove Tannery, where she served as the Sunday school treasurer from 1945 until 1980.

She was also involved in the community, serving the Fulton County Medical Center Auxiliary, serving as the secretary from 1965-1968, serving on the local election board for several terms as inspector then as judge of elections, and she also served as secretary for Timber Ridge Burial Association since 1973.

She is survived by numerous cousins and in particular, Jim and Stella Pittman of McConnellsburg, Pa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Hattie Fisher

Graveside services were held at Damascus Cemetery in Big Cove Tannery, at 11 a.m., on October 27, 2012. Rev. Roger Truax officiated.

Memorial donations may be made to the Damascus Cemetery Association.
