Oleta M. Clark
She was born on November 25, 1922, in Breezewood, a daughter of the late Harvey and Emma (Morse) Mills. On December 14, 1950, in Winchester, Va. she married Richard S. Clark. He preceded her in death.
She is survived a stepsister, Mabel Mearkle, Everett; stepbrother Donald Bernhard, married to Beverly, Boardman, Ohio; a niece who was like a daughter, Joyce Heckman, Everett; a nephew, Roy Layton, married to Delma, Lititz, Pa.; and nieces and nephews: Bill, Dennis, Randy, Karen, Denise, Pamela, Donna, Brian, Paula, Barry, Robin and Louretta Jean; numerous great-nieces and nephews; and an adopted niece, Jill, married to Jack Drenning, Bedford.
She was preceded in death by a stepmother, Louretta Mills Hann; a sister, Thelma I. Layton; and a stepbrother, Cramer Bernhard.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Breezewood, where she was active in the Lutheran ladies auxiliary.
She was a graduate of Everett High School Class of 1941.
Over the years she was employed for the U.S. Agriculture Department as secretary from 1942-1945, Lions Manufacturing as payroll clerk and later worked at Everett Bank and First National Bank now Susquehanna Bank until her retirement in 1975.
She was a member of Breezewood Volunteer Fire Co. Auxiliary, Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, Elks Bowling League and Rebecca Lodge of Breezewood.
She served as auditor for East Providence Township.
She enjoyed flower gardening, cooking, pie baking and most of all helping others.
Funeral services were held Monday, October 22, 2012, at 2 p.m., in the chapel at Akers Funeral Home. Pastor Ronald Hott and Pastor Curtis Bryant officiated. Burial was at Everett Cemetery.
