Lloyd H. Covert Orbisonia, 93
Lloyd H. Covert, 93, a resident of the Woodland Retirement Community, Orbisonia, and formerly of Hustontown, died Wednesday, October 17, 2012, at Fulton County Medical Center, Mc- Connellsburg.
He was born in Rock Hill Furnace, Pa., January 22, 1919, the son of the late Francis and Elsie (Gutchall) Covert. He is the husband of Vivian J. (Berkstresser) Covert, a resident of Fulton County Long-Term Care Unit, McConnellsburg. They were married on November 6, 1944.
He worked for Lang & Fellows in Baltimore, Md., for many years doing constuction work in Baltimore and Washington, D.C., before retiring from T.B. Woods in Chambersburg.
He was a member of Knobsville United Methodist Church, Knobsville, and a lifetime member of Hustontown Volunteer Fire Co. In his early years he enjoyed square dancing and attending flea markets and auctions.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Robert D. Covert (husband of Laura) of Hustontown; a sister, Lena Snyder of Shade Gap, and a brother, Melvin Covert of Shade Gap; four grandchildren; eight greatgrandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by three brothers: Ralph, Norman and Janivar Covert
Funeral services were held at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., Mc- Connellsburg, at 11 a.m., Friday, October 19. Pastor William Kuhn officiated. Interment was at Hustontown Cemetery.
