Boy Scout Council Receives Donation, Gets New Tournament Sponsor
After 25 years of organizing and conducting the annual Great Cove Golf Course Boy Scout Golf Tournament, Bob Peck and David Washabaugh have turned over the event sponsorship to Ken Shreve and Hamilton Automotive. “It’s been a very rewarding experience for both of us,’’ said an emotional Washabaugh. The two men have helped raise more than $58,000 for the Mason-Dixon Boy Scout Council and Sinoquipe Camp through their 25 years of organizing. Ken Shreve said the Hamilton dealerships are involved with helping to sponsor Boy Scout tournaments in the area and are looking forward to being the organizational sponsor for the Great Cove event. He, along with Scout officials, thanked Peck and Washabaugh with sincere appreciation for their contributions to Scouting.
